Naturminne 2026 – outdoor group show at Pålsundsberget, 6 June 2026
Collection of works shown at one-day exhibition organized by Echoe Site Collective. The site of the exhibition was one of Stockholm’s only two “Naturminnen” (natural monuments), natural spaces spread throughout Sweden that are legally protected for their geological and botanical values.
These sculptures and drawings had been developing since my time at my previous Årstaberg studio. Right next to that studio was an area handled by the construction group Skanska, where large piles of gravel created an odd looking landscape among the concrete. I was thinking about all the out-of-sight work, energy, and excavation needed to keep the city functioning, and was inspired by the phenomena of everyday life in the city as little clues to how urban spaces are entangled with and affected by natural processes.
